Grade 6 - £50,383 pa, rising incrementally to £52,082 pa (including London Weighting)
Full-time, Permanent - 35 hours per week – happy to talk flexible working.

Can you inspire others to help us change the world of work for good?
The TUC is looking for a great external affairs officer to raise the profile of the TUC and our campaign priorities with MPs and peers.
We need someone to manage relationships with political stakeholders, contribute to campaigns, write parliamentary briefings and keep us updated on what’s going on in Westminster.
You’ll be joining an External Affairs team that runs several high-profile campaigns and events every year, engages with a wide range of MPs, Ministers and other decision makers and supports our general secretary Paul Nowak to demand change for working people.

What experience, skills, knowledge and understanding do you need?
- You’ll have some experience of campaigning for policy change
- You’ll know the political world well, and be familiar with the TUC’s policy priorities
- You’ll write beautifully, have great judgement and you are able to take the initiative
- You’ll share our trade union and anti-racist values

This is a two stage interview process, you’ll be required to complete an online assessment before shortlisting for interview. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 29 October 2025.
